Suntory Global Spirits announces the appointment of Henri Charpentier as General Manager of its French subsidiary, effective May 1, 2026. This decision comes two years after the official launch of Suntory Global Spirits France, established in January 2024 to directly manage the marketing and distribution of the group's brands in the French market.
An internal promotion after two years of structuring
Henri Charpentier has held the position of Commercial Operations Director in France since 2023. In this role, he played a decisive part in setting up the subsidiary, structuring the organization, and defining strategic directions for the French market. His appointment to lead the entity represents a deliberate continuity by the group, demonstrating its desire to build upon the foundations laid over the past two years.
His previous career includes management positions at Danone and Kellogg's, as well as supporting the launch and expansion of Getir in France. This hands-on experience in high-growth environments complements his profile as an international manager.
Clearly defined priorities
In his new role, Henri Charpentier will be responsible for leading the next phase of development for the French organization, with three priority areas: operational excellence, controlled growth, and building a sustainable distribution model, in line with Suntory Global Spirits' long-term ambitions in Europe.
France is among the group's priority European markets, where it directly distributes a portfolio including Japanese whiskies Hibiki® and Toki®, Scotch whiskies Laphroaig® and Bowmore®, as well as American whiskies Jim Beam® and Maker's Mark®.
Franco-Canadian and based in Paris, Henri Charpentier is a marathon runner, passionate about motorsport, and has a strong interest in wines and spirits.
