For the holidays, La Maison du Whisky hasn't just decorated its stores with garlands and pretty bottles. No, this year, it's offering an experience that feels like a mini-initiation journey: Storytellers.

Behind this poetic name are true storytellers, present throughout November and December in the company's three Parisian locations: rue d’Anjou, Carrefour de l’Odéon, and rue Tiquetonne. Their mission? To let you taste a spirit... but above all, to tell you the story that goes with it. Because a good whisky, rum, or sake is also an adventure, characters, landscapes, and traditions.

And there are no shortage of anecdotes. We discover, for example, that Masataka Taketsuru, founder of the Yoichi distillery, dreamed of a whisky with "the taste of the wind"! In Jamaica, we dive into the mythical muck pits of Hampden Estate, these fermentation pits that give the rums their incredible intensity. Further in Japan, we learn that the red dragonflies of the Izumibashi rice fields, which have become the emblem of the house, are not just a pretty symbol: they bear witness to untouched nature, at the heart of a preserved ecosystem.

The result? You don't just leave with a beautiful bottle, but with a story to share. The kind you bring out at the table when opening the bottle, a bit like a secret passed from connoisseur to connoisseur.

With this initiative, La Maison du Whisky continues what it has been doing since 1956: exploring, understanding, selecting, and sharing. More than 240 exclusive brands, a team of enthusiasts, and stores that have become true places of exchange where advice is as important as tasting.

So if you had planned to quickly buy a bottle before New Year's Eve, change of plans: you might end up staying for a while, captivated by a story of wind, dragonflies, or ancestral fermentation. But after all, that's also the magic of the holidays.
