Fifty years. That's how long it took Aberlour to unveil the oldest single malt in its history. Half a century of patience, silent aging in the cellars, and craftsmanship to create a whisky as rare as it is symbolic: Aberlour 50 Year Old, produced in only 20 examples worldwide, with just two destined for France.
In other words, this release is more of a heritage event than a simple product launch.
Time as the main ingredient
Aged for five decades in carefully selected casks, this single malt embodies Aberlour's philosophy: letting time do its work, without haste. Under the supervision of Master Distiller Graeme Cruickshank, this edition marks a historic milestone for the Speyside distillery, founded in 1879.
"It is a living heritage," summarizes the master distiller. "Every drop tells fifty years of careful attention and reflects the unique character of our land"!

An aromatic profile of pure elegance
In the glass, Aberlour 50 Year Old plays the card of finesse. The nose opens with delicate fruits: ripe apricot, red apple, pear, before shifting to more gourmet notes of toasted hazelnut, marshmallow, and milk chocolate. On the palate, orange marmalade meets vanilla fudge, enhanced by a touch of candied ginger. The finish, long and sweet, elegantly allows spices to settle in .
When the container also tells a story
Aberlour did not stop at the liquid. Each bottle is presented in an oak case handmade by designer John Galvin. Composed of twelve carved staves, it is directly inspired by the casks that held the whisky for fifty years. The whole rests on a granite base sourced from the stone of the historic Aberlour distillery, now disused, a true relic integrated into the object .
A detail that further emphasizes the heritage dimension of this exceptional edition.
A rare... and unapologetic luxury
Offered at the price of 35,000 €, Aberlour 50 Year Old clearly targets collectors and lovers of unique pieces. More than a whisky, it is a fragment of history that the Scottish distillery bottles, and a demonstration of what time, when well accompanied, can offer as most precious .
